Tottenham Hotspur of England midfielder, Bamidele Alli nhas gained massive backing from one of his teammates, Eric Dier, who has stuck out his neck that the Nigerian-born England international will soon return to top form.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, although Alli has dropped down the perking order for both club an country, with the current season appearing to be rather stormy for him, Dier is of a view that his Spurs’ pal will soon return to his very best.
While many observers would remember a recent spat between Alli and Dier, the feud is apparently all over, as the latter is sticking his neck out for the former Milton Keynes Dons’ dazzler, who he says will soon be back doing what he loves doing best.
This is in contrast with recent reports indicating that Alli’s situation at Spurs looks bleak having fallen out of favour under their current coach, Jose Mourinho this season and he was linked with a move away from the club during the recent transfer window.
He has made just three starts so far and has not made it past half-time on two of them as Mourinho takes a ruthless stance; which is a huge fall from grace for the 24-year-old, who was one of Europe’s best young players when he burst into Tottenham’s side, but Dier is backing him to recover.
Alli’s plight has not been helped by Spurs making a positive start to the season, where they sit in third place in the Premier League after seven games, and they will go top if they beat West Bromwich Albion next Sunday and have been tipped to make a title challenge, but Dier is not looking too far ahead, while also putting in a word for his once fearsome teammate.
Dier declared: “Dele has the capacity, we all know his quality, we all know what he brings, he’s shown that in the past. It’s really up to him to put in the work, the effort, the commitment and I’m sure he will do that.
“That’s who he is, he’s always had that drive. It’s up to him, it’s in his hands and it’s in all of our hands. Individually, we all have to perform, we’ve got a very big squad and we all have to perform at the highest level if we want to play.”
