Tottenham Hotspur of England’s Nigerian-born dazzler, Bamidele (Dele) Alli has received a three-dimensional offer from the London-based club’s top brass as a solution to his current out-of-favour status with the team, megasportsarena.com reports.
As Alli continues failing in his efforts to convince Spurs’ current coach, Jose Mourinho that he deserves a regular place in the starting 11, the England international has been told pointedly that he either stays and fights for his shirt, leave on loan or get a full transfer elsewhere.
However, the club’s top brass ae also reportedly divided over the matter, as some would preferred selling the former Milton Keynes Dons’ lad outright, while a handful of them have suggested a loan deal that would help him regain his psyche and return to the club in renewed form at a later date.
The report out of England, however, adds that, while the loan and transfer options are being considered for Alli, several egg heads at Tottenham have also told him to fight for his place and they are already resisting efforts to see him leave on a temporary basis in the winter transfer window.
This comes at a point BBC Sport disclosed that Paris St-Germain of France are making another attempt to sign Alli on loan in January, even after the French club failed to sign the 24-year-old lad in the summer because Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy refused to agree a deal.
However, while PSG are interested in signing Alli, following their failed attempts to sign him in the summer and fresh speculation keeps trailing his future at Spurs, the Nigerian-born dazzler is yet to make his position clear on what he wants heading into 2021.
This comes amidst additional reports that Alex Iwobi’s Everton are also preparing a January bid for Alli, as British tabloid, The Mirror disclosed at the weekend that The Toffees’ coach, Carlo Ancelotti is ready to make a move next month for the unsettled Spurs’ star and Harry Winks.
Ancelotti is an admirer of both England players, whose futures under Mourinho have become uncertain, and Iwobi’s coach is ready to put his hat into the box for Alli, who has often been frozen out of Tottenham ‘s squads, while Winks has been sparingly-used.
Alli could end playing alongside Iwobi at Goodison Park, as Everton are ready to see if they can take the 24-year-old dazzler to Merseyside on loan in the January transfer window, knowing that the Nigerian-born lad is worried that lack of first team action could harm his prospects of playing for England in next summer’s European Championship.
The issue, though, is not straight forward, as reports out of Queensland further suggested at the weekend that Tottenham will only grant a permanent transfer for Alli and, rather than consider a six-month loan deal for him, a club source told Sky Sports News they do not want the star to leave on a temporary basis.
The once-vibrant Alli, who reached double figures for goals in his first three seasons with Spurs, following his arrival from MK Dons in 2015, has two goals in his eight appearances this season, but he has not started any EPL game since the home defeat to Everton on the opening weekend of the current campaign.
His last top-flight appearance was as a substitute in the 6-1 win at Manchester United more than two months ago and he was overlooked by Mourinho in the UEFA Europa League match against Royal Antwerp of Belgium last Thursday
For that game, Alli was an unused substitute in his side’s 2-0 victory, during which he briefly departed down the tunnel when it became apparent he was not going to get on the pitch, but he later returned several minutes later towards the end of the game.
Mourinho said afterwards: “Let’s not run away from the reality, a player on the bench who realises with five changes he is not one of them, of course he is not a happy player and I wouldn’t expect him to be.
“But every player who is on the bench, or leaves the pitch in cold weather with me, they can go to the dressing room and I even prefer if that happened.”
