Bayern Munich of Germany defender, David Olatokunbo Alaba has surprisingly been named in a roll call of players likely to get transfers to Real Madrid of Spain in the coming month, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although most reports about the Nigerian-born left-back’s transfer options had been about Manchester City and Chelsea of England, latest information out of Deutschland indicates that Real Madrid are looking better placed to snatch the Austria international.
This is sequel to further confirmation that Alaba is not any closer in reaching a new contract agreement with Bayern, where he has lost his place as their preferred left-back and is mostly used of recent as a central defender.
With The Bavarians also baulking on acceding to Alaba’s desire for improved terms in a new deal at Allianz Arena, the dark-skinned ace with a Nigerian father and Philippines mother is seriously thinking of moving on in the January transfer window, and latest reports indicates that his next port of call could jolly well be Madrid.
The report out of Spain added: “Real Madrid have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Bayern Munich defender David Alaba. The 28-year-old has still not signed a new deal at the Allianz Arena, and as it stands, he will be available on a free transfer at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
“A recent report claimed that Alaba’s agent Pini Zahavi had drawn up a four-club shortlist for his client, with Madrid joined by Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. All four sides are believed to be in the hunt for the Austria international, but according to Marca, Madrid are close to concluding a move for the versatile defender.
“The report claims that Los Blancos will wait until January 1 to officially open talks with Alaba but are confident of winning the race for the nine-time Bundesliga winner. The former Austria Vienna youngster is believed to be looking for a contract of £350,000 a week.”
