Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze has been advised to think wisely before accepting to join Chelsea of England in a January transfer deal, as his coach at the Yellow Submarine, Javier Calleja believes the youngster will not be as comfortable elsewhere as he has been in his team, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although he admitted that the task of keeping Chukwueze will not be an easy one, considering that Chelsea’s interest is coming after similar links with Leicester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid, Calleja insists Villarreal has accorded the youngster the right atmosphere to grow.
He went on to accept, though, that Chukwueze should be able to leave the club at some point in his career, but hinted that he would love to see the Super Eagles’ rookie stay put for a long while, in order for him to learn more about basic foundations of a successful career.
The gaffer also went on to declare that he is happy with the attitude being shown by Chukwueze and acknowledged that the youngster keeps showing how grateful he is to the club for giving him his breakthrough into La Liga’s mainframe, but stressed that his biggest desire is to see the lad leave only when he is ripe enough, in order not to face hurdles at his next base.
Calleja told popular Spanish newspaper, Marca: “I think Samu is very grateful to everything Villarreal has given him. He is very young and has much to improve, and he knows it. He must continue working because in future he will have to face other experiences (in) another league.
“He has time ahead and knows that he has the love of the fans and the total support of teammates and coaching staff. It will be difficult for him to find a place where he is more comfortable and more familiar than in a club like ours.”
