Club Brugge of Belgium attacker, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure has found another lift coming to his blossoming career, as he is now on the January transfer radar of Manchester United of England, with the Super Eagles’ rookie set to gain fresh trappings from his recent top form, megasportsarena.com gathered.
Although reports out of Belgium indicate that Bonaventure has drawn the ire of fans, analysts and his teammates for suddenly becoming selfish during matches with the club, Man United have apparently found him good enough to be considered for a deal next month.
This might be based on the stunning brace of goals Bonaventure netted against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League some months back and, although he could not save his side from crashing out of the elite clubs’ competition, he had a high personal scorecard overall from all the matches he played in the group stage.
Brugge are still in continental action, as they prepare to line out in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 early next year, with Bonaventure’s club dramatically drawn up against the same team that is now hunting fervently for his signature.
Bonaventure will have either signed for the United before then or get another opportunity to play himself into reckoning for a summer deal with The Red Devils, who won the tournament in 2017, but have struggled for form domestically and continentally in recent time under the care of one of their former star players, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
United will travel to Belgium for the first leg on February 20, with the reverse fixture fixed for Old Trafford seven days later, with pundits already warning them about the threat from Brugge, who were initially in the Champions League, but they finished third in Group A behind Paris Saint-Germain of France and Real Madrid of Spain, without winning any of their six matches.
However, United may have to move fast and decisively to get Bonaventure, as a report by Fussball Transfers indicates that The Red Devils’ English Premier League rivals, Brighton Hove & Albion, Southampton and Leicester City have all had scouts watch the youngster this season.
Club Brugges’ home arena, Jan Breydel Stadium has become a familiar ground for various EPL buffs, as they troop in to monitor the 22-year-old Bonaventure, but additional information states that United are already in talks with his representatives ahead of the January market.
Brugge got €25m from Aston Villa for Brazilian striker, Wesley and they could make even more from a deal with United for Bonaventure, as another report by Foot Mercato stated that the EPL giants are eager to sign the emerging attacker, who has four goals in 13 league appearances and only recently extended his contract with his current club.
