Everton of England playmaker, Alex Iwobi has received a fresh bolt of commendations from his coach at Goodison Park, as Carlo Ancelotti he has enough confidence in the Super Eagles’ star’s technique and physical conditioning, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although mixed reactions are trailing Ancelotti’s decision to convert Iwobi to a right-wing-back for their last three matches in the English Premier League, the Italian tactician appears satisfied with what the former Arsenal of England playmakers has been able to deliver since then.
The former AC Milan of Italy and Chelsea of England handler went on to declare ahead of his side’s battle with The Blues this Saturday at Goodison Park that he is impressed with what Iwobi has been able to achieve in his new role with The Toffees.
Iwobi has been used in attack, midfield and defence this season which has been highlighted by Ancelotti, as he spoke about the versatility of the Eagles’ ace, who first twinkled as a right-wing-back in a 3-2 win against Fulham on November 22.
The dreadlocks-wearing Iwobi again thrilled the following weekend as a left-wing-back before returning to a right side in his most recent game versus Burnley.
Iwobi is set to feature again in the same role this Saturday, as Everton’s preferred fullbacks – Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne – are not available to face Chelsea due to their respective current injuries.
It will be Iwobi’s 136th appearance in the English top-flight if selected to face Chelsea, which he has played against ten times in his career, with five victories, two draws and three defeats, plus two goals to show personally, and Ancelotti says he has enough trust in the lad to help him hold back his former club this weekend.
Ancelotti told Liverpool Echo : “I think when Iwobi is fit, he can play everywhere. In this moment I have a lot of confidence, because his physical condition is really good.”
