PAOK Saloniki of Greece striker, Chuba Akpom has confessed that he has a burning desire to help his side defeat highly-fancied Olympiakos in their Greek Super League clash on Sunday, megasportsarena.com reports.
Akpom heads into the game on the strength of good form and a fair run of goals for himself personally, which makes him enthusiastic that he will have a good outing against the Greek giants.
He is also optimistic that his side will be able to rise to the occasion collectively, as the Nigerian-born former Arsenal of England youth team striker is of a view that PAOK have stabilised and become more formidable in recent time.
With those factors in mind, Akpom says he is eagerly looking forward to facing Olympiakos on Sunday evening, and urged PAOK’s fans to turn out en masse to support the team to victory in the matchday 25 fixture at Stadio Toumbas in Thessaloniki.
The barrel-chested all-action attacker, who has featured in 21 matches in the Greek Super League this term, scoring six goals for the defending champions, noted further that victory over Olympiakos will see his side gather spots ahead of their rivals, as only two points currently separate them at the top of the table.
Akpom said: “I am excited for the game on Sunday; I hope you are as well. We are ready to show them and get the three points again. I can’t wait to see the amazing atmosphere at Toumba. I hope you are ready, help us fight and protect PAOK.”
