Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles coach, Paul Osaghon Aigbogun is taking stock of his side’s 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso in their opening match at this year’s Africa Games, with a verdict that his side must do better in their next game, because he admits they have no reason not to succeed in Morocco.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the Flying Eagles will also do battle in Group A with the host country, Morocco and South Africa, who they will play next, before capping the group phase on August 23 with a clash against the home nation.
Although Aigbogun admitted he was disappointed to see his players toil in Friday’s opening fixture in Rabat, he insists there will be a turnaround in their subsequent matches.
The former Warri Wolves and Enyimba of Aba gaffer added that he is sure of better things to come for the Flying Eagles, because of the build-up they received and the massive exposure many of the lads got at the recent FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
He added that his side has no reason to disappoint their country in the men’s football event of the 2019 Games in Morocco, because they are conscious of high expectations from all Nigerians.
Aigbogun added: “We’ve worked hard in training and the boys are determined too. We have no reason not to deliver. In which case we expect Nigerians to as usual stand behind us with their support”.
