Outgoing Liverpool of England Nigerian-born striker, Bobby Adekanye has denied holding any malice or misgivings against The Reds, as he insists he is leaving Anfield on good terms, megasportsarena.com reports.
The 20-year-old winger has already flown into Rome, Italy, as he intends to seal a deal next month with Serie A side, SS Lazio, yet stressed that he still loves Liverpool and thanks them for accepting him in their squad.
Adekanye, who holds Dutch citizenship and has played at youth level for Holland, comes to the end of his contract with Liverpool this summer, and is said to have already agreed a four-year deal with Lazio.
That would mean finally making the controversial move, which was first botched in January, as Adekanye aims to keep alive his dream of starring for the club that once had Ayo Makinwa, Seyi Adeleke, Sani Emmanuel and Eddy Ogenyi Onazi on their roster.
However, Adekanye reiterated that he is not leaving Merseyside with ill feelings, declaring instead that he enjoyed everyday of the four years he spent with The Red and Kops.
“Four years ago when I arrived at Liverpool I was still a child. Now I leave as a man and I take with me a new family which I’ll feel is mine forever.
“It’s not easy finding the right words for thanking everything Liverpool FC has given to me these years.
“To every coach I had in Academy and Melwood, to every team-mate I shared good moments with, to every employee who was always by my side, thanks a lot.
“I don’t know how or when but I’m sure we’ll meet again someday. Stand by with me on June 1.
“I’ll be one more helping the team to win the Champions League final. #YNWA,” Adekanye submitted.
