Perugia of Italy striker, Sadiq Umar has reflected on the short term he spent on loan at Glasgow Rangers of Scotland and declared it a huge nightmare for his career, as he was allegedly humiliated by the club, megasportsarena.com reports.
The Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medalist, who has previously played for three Italian clubs, Spezia, Bologna and Torino, as well as NAC Breda of Holland, is currently on another loan deal from AS Roma, but says it is better off for him than the days he spent in Glasgow.
Although Umar admitted he was welcomed well at The Gers, especially as their coach, Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard showed him much love, but he recounted how things to a turn for the worst not too long after.
Although Scottish Premier League (SPL) observers feel Umar fell out with Gerrard because he failed to rain goals, the Kaduna-born lanky lad insists it was because they preferred to show more love to a new arrival, who he says dropped into supplant him at Ibrox.
Umar narrated: “I didn’t even have any time to settle down before they brought in another striker, Kyle Lafferty.
“That was when the problems started, and my situation soon degenerated into a real nightmare.
“All of a sudden, I was told that I could not use the first-team dressing-room any more. Instead I had to go change with the kids.
“Then, after a few days, I was also forbidden to park my car inside the training centre.
“I felt humiliated and kept asking what was the reason for the change of attitude. But I never received any answers.”
