Racing Genk of Belgium’s in-form striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu is bound to become the club’s highest ever sales in the European transfer window, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is the verdict of the sports director of Onuachu’s former club, FC Midtjylland of Denmark, director, Claus Steinlein, who reckoned that the Super Eagles’ rave of the moment has confirmed his soaring value in recent months.
With the product of Young Stars FC of Lagos and FC Ebedie of Shagamu leading the goals charts in Belgium with 29 sizzlers to his name and recently netting twice for Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Steinlein is of a view that Onuachu could be sold for 35 to 40 million Euro.
Currently, Sander Berge is the most expensive outgoing transfer by Genk, after they got 24 million Euros for him, but Steinlein believes that mark will change with Onuachu’s next deal, though his current transfer market value is 17 million Euros and he still has three years left with the Belgian club.
Steinlein, who confessed that he expects Genk to cash in on the tall striker’s burst of goals in the transfer market, told Tipsbladet: “If Onuachu is sold for 35 to 40 million euros, Genk will get a new striker. They can then get someone for 6 or 7 million euros.”
