SSC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen is in the news for the wrong reasons once again, as reports out of his former base in France indicate that his transfer from Lille Metropole has come under investigation.
Megasportsarena.com reports that Osimhen made history when he became the most expensive signing in Italian football history, after Napoli signed him for over 80m euro, but Lille are reportedly still waiting for more than 48m euro from the deal.
While only 10m euro has so far been paid to the French Ligue 1 club, another aspect of the arrangement has been called to question, as four other players were also expected to have joined Lille from Napoli as part of the transfer.
Details of the report by L’Equipe added that the French authorities are going through all documents concerning the transfer, following allegations of tax fraud as well as many other abnormalities.
Although part of the agreement between Lille and Napoli is that Osimhen’s fee will be paid over five years, a change of ownership at the recently crowned Ligue 1 champions in December has sparked a probe into the deal.
Osimhen and his fans will now have to wait with abated breath and resort to prayers for him to come through unscathed, following confirmation that the French judiciary is investigating his record-breaking move from Lille to Napoli last summer.
