Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr has joined in raining accolades on Lille Metropole of France striker, Victor Osimhen, who is moving closer to a deal with AS Napoli of Italy, where Nigeria’s national team’s gaffer believes the youngster will prove to be a worthy summer acquisition, megasportsarena.com reports.
With Osimhen edging closer to a transfer from Lille to Napoli in the coming hours, Rohr said he is happy to see one of his players heading into the high-profile Italian Serie A and has predicted that the youngster will be a huge success at the Naples-based outfit.
He reckoned further that Napoli will be great platform for Osimhen to further develop into a crack striker, while also predicting that the former VfL Wolfsburg of Germany and Sporting Charleroi of Belgium hitman will shine with the Serie A club that once had Argentine soccer legend, Diego Maradona in their team.
The Franco-German tactician added that Osimhen has all the right attributes needed for him to make a huge impact in the tough Italian top-flight and concluded with a verdict that he expects the 21-year-old striker to take every chance that comes his way.
Rohr told Radio Punto Nuovo: “Napoli is a great chance for Victor and Victor will prove to be a great player for Napoli if the deal goes through. He’s a scorer, a player of power and speed. He’s a fighter, he never accepts defeat, he always wants to win even in training matches.
“Victor is someone who wants to grow and improve, technically and tactically. He has a great-player mentality. Serie A is a prestigious championship. I have advised him to take an important step and go to a top level club, where he can find the right space to play regularly and grow.”
