SC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen has received a fresh dose of accolades, as a former midfielder in the Italian Serie A club, Salvatore Bagni has served a strong verdict that the Super Eagles’ youngster is a better player than Juventus’ Spanish attacker, Alvaro Morata.
Although Morata has made top marks since arriving at Juve few months back, after equally excelling with Chelsea of England Real Madrid of Spain, Bagni is of a view that the Spaniard is not as good a finisher as Osimhen is fast turning out to be.
Osimhen, who is the costliest African transfer ever, when he joined The Partenopei for an initial 70 million euros last summer, making him the Italian club’s most expensive acquisition in history, has Bagni’s vote of confidence despite having faced a difficult first season at Napoli due to injuries.
Megasportsarena.com reports that Bagni went on to back Osimhen to eventually come good, as he is in awe of the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer, who has five goals and two assists in 1, 292 minutes of action for the Naples-based side this term.
Incidentally, Morata, who is on loan at Juve from Atlético Madrid of Spain has 17 goals and 12 assists) for Juventus, but it’s Osimhen who Bagni is rooting for and he declared during Gonfia La Rete via Area Napoli that his judgment is based on number of minutes played in ratio of goals scored.
The former Napoli dazzler submitted: “Before judging the performance of the Nigerian we must also consider the number of minutes played. The Nigerian has missed many games. For me he is much stronger than Alvaro Morata.”
