Lille Metropole of France striker, Victor Osimhen is attracting much stronger and highly vibrant summer transfer interest from Chelsea of England more than any of his other suitors, as the London-based club aim to outsmart four of their English Premier League rivals that are also in the hunt for the lad’s signature in the summer transfer market, megasportsarena.com gathered.
Chelsea’s interest in the Super Eagles’ rookie had earlier reported in tandem with similar links from the quintet of Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, but The Blues are moving faster in their frenetic bid to outdo the other suitors.
The latest report out of Queensland indicates that Chelsea are already preparing a formal bid for Osimhen, whose contract with Lille runs until the summer of 2024, but that will not stop The Blues from trying to snatch the youngster, who has netted 13 goals in the Frnech Ligue 1.
The London outfit are seeking to revive their Nigerian connections at Stamford Bridge, which were boosted by the like of Celestine Babayaro, John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses over the years, while another school of thought says they are also looking at Osimhen in the same light as one of their best strikers ever, Didier Drogba, who joined them from Olympique Marseille of France.
The updated report by sportsmole revealed: “Chelsea are reportedly preparing a summer move for Lille attacker Victor Osimhen. The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for his French club during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 18 times and registering six assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
“A host of clubs, including Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal, are believed to be keeping a close eye on the attacker ahead of potential offers this summer. However, according to Le 10 Sport, Chelsea are also very much in the race for the Nigeria international as they line up a bid ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.”
