Inter Milan of Italy winger, Victor Moses has earned sweet words from Manchester United of England defender, Luke Shaw, who says the former Super Eagles’ star is the toughest opponent he has ever played against, megasportsarena.com reports.
Taking his mind back to the days Moses starred for Chelsea of England, from where he was loaned to Inter at the start of this year, following similar previous deals with Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United, Shaw recalled that the former with Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic dazzler was always tough to handle down the flanks.
Although Moses appears to have lost form, mostly due to injuries and weight issues that have troubled him from a previous loan deal at Fernebahce of Turkey, before moving to San Siro earlier this year, Shaw still remembers how daring the former England youth international was during his days at Chelsea.
After first coming against Moses while he was still with Southampton, Shaw admits he is not bound to forget those though days in a hurry, especially as they also went head-to-head two times during the 2012-2013 season, in the EPL and FA Cup, with Chelsea winning both games, and he has now tagged the Nigerian as the toughest opponent he has faced in his career.
Moses also played against him during the 2013/14 season during his loan spell with Liverpool, but the England international took his mind further back in recollecting how he first came up against the man Antonio Conte prefers playing as a right-wing-back, and Shaw concluded that the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner troubled him more than Gareth Bale, Lionel Messi and Eden Hazard.
Shaw told United’s official website : “People always think I’m joking, but one of my hardest games ever was against Victor Moses when I was coming in as a 17-year-old at Southampton. Maybe because I was so young.
“He was really quick, direct, strong and that was a challenge for me. I’ve played against the likes of Gareth Bale, Messi and Hazard, and they were all so good, but I always remember Victor Moses as a really tough opponent as well.”
