Inter Milan of Italy winger, Victor Moses is facing yet another obstacle in his hope of signing a full contract with the Italian Serie A club, as The Nerazzurri are not ready to splash the asking fee of £10.5m being demanded by his parent club, Chelsea of England, megasportsarena.com reports.
With Moses failing to hit the type of form and goals that had been hyped about him before he landed at The San Siro in January, Intrer’s hierarchy are not inclined to splash cash on him, thus living a cloud of doubt hanging over the possibility of him staying on beyond this summer.
The only tiny piece of hope Moses can hold unto, though, is if Chelsea agree to lower their asking price from Inter, whose gaffer, Antonio Conte is still willing to give the former Super Eagles’ star another term, to prove himself in the squad, based on what he knew of the lad that played under him during their time together at Stamford Bridge.
However, a report by Calciomercato.com affirmed that Inter are ready to send Moses back to Chelsea, as The Nerazzurri are not ready to pay the full asking price to sign on the 29-year-old former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic dazzler, who has previously played on loan from The Blues at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United as well as Fernebahce of Turkey.
It is now getting trickier than ever for Moses, who joined Conte’s side on a six-month loan deal that includes an option to buy for £10.5m in January but, having made only seven appearances for Inter, and with just one assist, which came during a 4-2 victory against their local rivals, AC Milan, The Nerazzurri want a significant discount, which may not go down well with Chelsea.
European transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano added in his report for Calciomercato that Inter Milan are bearing in mind that the Serie A season has been halted and clubs are no longer generating income as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
Consequently, while also noting that Moses has not played much since his arrival in January, logging just 359 minutes on playing time on the pitch, from a possible 810 in all competitions, the club could instead decide to promote Tibo Persyn to the first team should they fail to strike terms with Chelsea on a lower transfer fee for the Nigerian star.
