Former Super Eagles’ utility payer, Uche Agbo has finally achieved a full transfer to Deportivo La Coruña of Spain, as the Spanish second-tier club have officially announced an agreement that sees him join them from Standard Liege of Belgium, megasportsarena.com reports.
The defensive-midfielder-cum-central-defender had been on loan from Liege at La Coruna last season and, though there had been initial expectations that he would return to the Belgian Jupiler League club this summer, he has eventually penned a four-year deal with The Blues & Whites that also recently sold Francis Odinaka Uzoho to APOEL Nicosia of Cyprus.
Uche, who earlier had contracts with Granada of Spain and Watford of England, before getting loan spells at Rayo Vallecano of Spain and Sporting Braga of Portugal from Liege, will now aim for the best impact in The Land of The Armada, where he has a total of 115 matches in Spanish football – 44 in LaLiga, nine in Segunda Division, 57 in Segunda B and five in Copa del Rey.
The soft-spoken battler, who played in Nigeria with Taraba United of Jalingo, JUTH FC of Jos and Enyimba of Aba before travelling abroad, will also aim for a recall to the Super Eagles, having been in their provisional list for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, five years after he was part of the youth national team that lined out in Turkey for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
