Manchester United of England youth team player, Shola Shoretire is again in the news, as Newcastle United legend, Lee Clark has come out with sterling words in celebration of the Nigerian-born youngster, megasportsarena.com reports.
While certain number of critics have been known to smirk at reports linking Shoretire with huge waves in years to come at Old Trafford and the national teams of either Nigeria or England, once he makes his choice about his international career in days to come, Clark is of a view that the lad is precocious to the letter and a sure bet for future heroics.
He used the opportunity of his column in popular all-soccer portal, Tribal Football to state his view about Shoretire, who he revealed he has flowed for a number of years and has never been left in doubt about the youngster’s talent, which he posited should make him a sure bet for high ratings in years to come with The Red Devils.
Clark, who played for Newcastle (twice), Sunderland and Fulham, but left his last coaching hob with National League North outfit, Blyth Spartans by mutual consent on March 4th, stated: “I’ve watched Shola Shoretire when my son Bobby has been down at the academy at Newcastle and played against Man Utd.
“Shola is an unbelievable young talent with fantastic ability. Great pace, great movement. He made his debut this week for the U23s having just turned 16. He’s not the biggest but he’s powerful and I know the people at United are excited.
“At first when I heard about him a couple of years ago (I wanted him at Newcastle) but what they do at United is they don’t go overboard officially about players. They keep it in house and under wraps but they will now they’ve got a special young talent in their hands without a doubt.
“I was initially frustrated that Newcastle lost out on one of their own, but it was a scenario that couldn’t be helped with his parents being offered jobs down in the Manchester area which they had to take. Unfortunately there’s nothing Newcastle could have done about that.”
