Bursaspor of Turkey defender, Shehu Abdullahi has disclosed that he spent the early part of Christmas Day in training with his teammates, as they prepare for their next match in the lower division Turkish First Lig, megasportsarena.com reports.
Action continues in Turkey all through yuletide, and Abdullahi’s side will be back on the pitch for their next match, which will be at home on Saturday against Hatayspor, ahead of which the former Sokoto United, Kano Pillars and Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus star said he and his pals are stepping up their efforts.
The Super Eagles’ right-back also used the moment to reveal his new hair cut, which he said was motivated by many of his fans that kept angling for him to don a clean cut, instead of stylish patterns, and he believes he will be inspired further to do well for his former top-flight club.
Burssapor are currently struggling in seventh place on the log, which puts them a rung outside the promotion play-off zone, while their visitors this weekend are riding high in first position, hence the determination with which he and his pals took to training on Christmas day.
However, while taking to social media to reveal his plans for the game, Abdullahi took a step further with a second post to send hearty yuletide greetings to his fans, well-wishers and all Nigerians in general, with an additional charge for caution and moderation in their celebrations.
Abdullahi disclosed: “Even on Christmas day, we work and plan for the last game of the year. My new hairstyle as requested by my fans and beloved friends. Dreads gone based on your request; we keep the hair low for 2020. #Bursaspor #TheFavourite12.
“May the Christmas Season bring happiness and joy to you and your family. I appreciate all my friends for the amazing support in 2019, your love is priceless. See you all in 2020. Please, be careful while celebrating, safety first. God bless you. Merry Christmas!!!”
