It’s now back and forth between Kelechi Nwakali and his former club SD Huesca who terminated his contract three days ago, Megasportsarena.com reports.
While Nwakali insists that Spanish Segunda division club terminated his contract because he went to the Africa Cup of Nations, and didn’t succumb to the pressure of signing a new contract among other allegations, the club has denied all the allegations made by Nwakali and insisted that it lack veracity.
Below is a statement by SD Huesca.
“In relation to the statements made by Kelechi Nwakali today after the early termination of the contract that linked him with SD Huesca, the club wishes to express its total rejection of their lack of veracity, all with the total conviction that the club has acted at all times with the utmost respect for the player,”reads the statement.
“Although, and given the seriousness of some of the statements made in the statement, this club reserves the exercise of any actions it deems appropriate in defense of its legitimate rights and interests.”
Meanwhile, the Spanish players’ union has said it will challenge in court the “unilateral” dismissal of Kelechi Nwakali by SD Huesca.
The players’ union AFA Futbol stated in an official statement that the labour rights of the midfielder Nwakali were violated by the club.
