Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze remains a huge doubt for the next two matches that The Yellow Submarine will play in the Spanish LaLiga, as his recovery from injury continues, megasportsarena.com reports.
After missing action this past Sunday against Real Mallorca, startling news out of The Land of The Armada indicates that the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist may not recover in time for Villarreal’s upcoming matches against Elche and Real Madrid.
This much was confirmed by Villarreal’s coach, Unai Emery, who moaned that Chukwueze was still not fit enough to make his first appearance of the season on Sunday away to Mallorca in LaLiga’s fifth round of matches.
‘Samu’ has been missing in action since he suffered an injury to his anterior rectus in the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League against Arsenal of England in May and Emery recently admitted concern that the star’s recovery was not going according to plan.
The type of injury Chukwueze is nursing should have kept him sidelined for only three months but, much to the chagrin of Emery, the dazzling winger is yet to make full recovery after four months.
Alarmingly, the former Arsenal gaffer has now disclosed that nothing has changed with the lad’s situation, such that the product of Diamond Academy of Umuahia was ruled out of his team’s trip to Balearic Islands and looks set to miss the next two games as well.
Emery told Villarreal’s official website: “We have two players out, Samu Chukwueze and Dani Raba. Everyone else is in good shape and raring to play.”
