Arsenal of England youth team players, Bukayo Saka and James Olayinka are in The Gunners’ squad that flew out to United States of America on Thursday, and megasportsarena.com gathered that they are set to play four pre-season games in the coming weeks.
Saka and Olayinka will hope to impress Arsenal coach, Unai Emery in the absence of key players, starting against Colorado Rapids in Denver on Tuesday before playing Bayern Munich of Germany in Los Angeles next Thursday, then Fiorentina of Italy in Charlotte and Real Madrid of Spain in Washington DC.
The Gunners will return to Europe in time to play away to Olympique Lyon of France on July 28 in the Emirates Cup, then battle Angers on July 31 and Barcelona in Spain on August 4.
However, Arsenal’s trip to the United States has been overshadowed by the absence of their captain, Laurent Koscielny, who refused to travel for the tour as he wants to leave the club.
The 33-year-old has a year remaining on his contract but wants Arsenal to let him leave for free, with Bordeaux, Lyon and Rennes all interested in signing him.
Arsenal have opened disciplinary proceedings against Koscielny, who is expected to be hit with a hefty fine and stripped of the captaincy.
