Remo Stars Continental Quest Receives A Boost As MFM Go Down

Remo Stars boosted their chances of playing on the continent next season following their a 1-0 win against Enyimba at the Ikenne Stadium on Sunday.

They are now in third position courtesy of Sikiru Alimi’s winning goal late in the first half, reports Megasportsarena.com.

The Ikenne side are now one point ahead of Kwara United who leapfrogged Rangers International who were held to a surprise 2-2 draw in Awka by the visiting 3SC of Ibadan on Saturday.

The Ilorin side dismissed  Nasarawa United 3-0 to put pressure on Remo.

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro was in Ikenne to watch the Remo Stars v Enyimba game.

Ebube Duru scored a 90th minutes goal as newly crowned champions Rivers United pipped Kano Pillars 1-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Niger Tornadoes confirmed the relegation of Lagos side MFM with a 2-1 win at the Otunba Dipo International Stadium, Ijebu Ode.

Munir Idris opened scoring for the visitors in the 22nd minute, while Chukwudi Ekeocha equalised for the hosts on 63 minutes. Jonas Emmanuel grabbed the clincher in stoppage time to condemn the Olukoya Boys to the NNL.
