Umar Sadiq underwent surgery yesterday (Thursday), Real Sociedad has informed.
A signing made in the final days of the summer market from Almeria, the Nigeria striker has undergone knee surgery this week.
He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury against Getafe in a La Liga match last weekend.
A statement from the Spanish club reads: “Sadiq Umar has undergone surgery this morning.
“The Dr. Mikel Sánchez has performed a ligamentoplasty with the tendons of the semitendinous and internal rectum muscles to repair the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee suffered during the Getafe-RS match last Sunday, 11-09-2022.
“The operation has passed without incident. He will remain admitted until tomorrow, Friday, or until Saturday, depending on the clinical evolution.”
