Nigerian ex-international goalkeeper, Peter Fregene has received two successful surgeries in Lagos, following efforts launched by philanthropists and soccer stakeholders to save him from the jaws of stroke, megasportsarena.com learnt.
Leading the array of helpers is Lagos-based oil magnate, Femi Otedola, who not only put in a princely amount of money to foot Fregene’s bills at a posh hospital on Victoria Island, he also flew in specialists from abroad to take care of the icon.
Proving an update on Fregene’s situation, a former official at Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Raji Mohammed said Otedola’s efforts have gone a long way in saving the ex-keeper, who had been bed ridden for three years before help came his way.
The football stakeholder disclosed via social media that Fregene is currently recovering from his latest round of surgery and treatment at the hospital, with a view that the legend will soon be back on his feet, healthy and sound once again.
