Racing Genk of Belgium striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu has gained remarkable words of commendation from former Manchester City of England captain, Vincent Kompany, who is now the coach at RSC Anderlecht of Belgium,megasportsarena.com reports.
With Onuachu having already emerged highest goals scorer in the Belgian top-flight league this season and still firing fury on all cylinders, Kompany is quick to admit that the Nigerian attacker is a big threat to any opponent.
That verdict comes ahead of the clash between both sides in the Belgian championship playoffs, where Anderlecht will do battle against Genk, who are currently second in the standings with 34 points, while their opponents are bottom on 31 points.
Onuachu has accounted for 31 goals in the league thus far and Kompany, starred as a central defender for Man City and Belgium during his playing days, is very much aware of this feat, even as the skipper-turned-gaffer hailed Genk’s squad as a whole.
Kompany eulogized: “KRC Genk is a team with players who can make a difference. If they are in shape, it is an impressive team.
“If you score thirty times, then you know that the boy (Onuachu) has confidence. But we can name them all, also Bongonda and Ito are there.
“At Genk they have players who you know are going to score 15 or 30 goals. We don’t have that yet, but in recent weeks several guys have found their way to the goal.
“That’s important for a team. Certain guys are pushing their limits. We have to be top against that as a team.”
