Barcelona Femeni of Spain attacker, Assitat Oshoala is heading into her first full season with the women’s squad of The Catalan Giants with a remarkable haul of nine goals in six matches, following another sizzler off her boots in a 4-0 win over Espanyol in the Copa Catalunya final, megasportsarena.com reports.
Following seven goals in previous pre-season matches outside Spain, Oshoala returned to her current hunting ground, and warded off a hint of injury, to romp home one in a 5-1 spanking of Seagulls on Thursday, at Estadi Municipal Palamós Costa Brava, then hit another at the weekend to help her side lift the trophy.
Oshoala opened scoring in the 24th minute, before Mariona Caldentey’s double in the 31st and 64th, such that the three-time African Women Footballer of The Year, who hit seven goals in seven appearances last season, said she was happy to open her trophy haul in Spain.
Having lost Liga Iberdrola race in the closing stages and in the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League to Lyon of France, Oshoala admitted she was glad to finally win a trophy with Barca and took to social media with a prayer for more to come, stating: “First of many, Insha Allahu.”
