Enyimba of Aba coach, Fatai Osho (aka Sugar) has expressed optimism that his side will have a credible referee at the centre of this CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals fixture away to Horoya FC of Guinea this weekend, in order for The Peoples’ Elephant to get a favourable result, megasportsarena.com reports.
Enyimba enter the game with a 1-1 draw from the first leg last weekend in Aba, but Osho is staying upbeat that his wards can turn the table on their hosts this Sunday, considering that they won their last group match of the same competition 5-2 away to San Pedro of Cote d’Ivoire.
The former Remo Stars of Ikenne gaffer is now angling for a repeat performance from his lads, and he stated on Brila FM that he and his players have already done their home work ahead of the game in Conakry, but they will now need an unbiased and capable ref in charge of the game.
He, however, noted that the level of officiating so far in this season’s edition of the competition has been top notch and, while reckoning that arbiters across the continent know the importance of the matches, he is optimistic that they will get a level playing field this Sunday in Conakry.
Osho concluded: “We scored five goals in our last away match of this competition, and I believe we can do so again. I am happy that this is a major competition in which we have seen good refereeing, and I believe the referee will allow a level field on Sunday. We know what we have to do to win this match, and I am sure the players will do their best to beat their hosts.
“We are expecting a tough match but we are also prepared because we know much about the team and we are well prepared for them and we know we are going to win by God grace because we know that on Sunday. It’s a must win match for us.”
