Brentford of England midfielder, Frank Onyeka has gained a new nickname for himself, following his sterling start to life in the English Premier League, where he has unleashed a mouth-gaping battling style in the middle of the pack.
With the former FC Ebedie of Shagamu and FC Midtjylland of Denmark defensive midfielder stomping all over the pitch in action for The Bees, he is now dubbed ‘Frank The Tank,’ due to his energetic displays.
Megasportsarena.com reports that this is the startling verdict of celebrated British pundit and ex-footballer, Darren Lewis, who cited Onyeka among the ads that make him praise Brentford for their recruitment policy.
The Bees brought in Kristoffer Ajer, Frank Onyeka, Yoane Wissa and Alvaro Fernández for their maiden season in the Premier League, and have also acquired free agent Zanka.
Brentford got rid of their academy at the end of the 2015-2016 season because they felt the top clubs were poaching their young players before breaking into the first team.
This summer, Brentford bolstered their B team with the signings of Daniel Oyegoke and Myles Peart-Harris from Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.
The pundit opined that The Bees will give a good account of themselves this season, which is their first ever in the English top-flight, because they have signed quality players like Onyeka, whose no-nonsense approach keeps drawing rave reviews.
Lewis said on Premier League Productions’ The Kelly and Wrighty Show: “If you look through the spine of the team there is quality, they have recruited very well.
“Kristoffer Ajer the center half, Frank Onyeka. They call him ‘Frank The Tank’ and you can see why because he is tough. His tackle and his distribution very good.”
