Crystal Palace of England new signing, Nonso Madueke has declared that he is aiming for greater days ahead of him with The Eagles, which he joined after excelling in the youth teams of Tottenham Hotspur.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the attacking midfielder-cum-winger, who hit home 25 goals in 22 games during his U16 season at Tottenham, is back at the same base where he earlier tried out some years back.
The England under-21 international was a schoolboy at The Eagles for two years before joining Spurs, from where he moved to PSV Eindhoven of Netherlands in the summer of 2018.
In accepting the offer from PSV, London-born Madueke turned down a scholarship offer at Spurs and took the risk of moving outside England to actualize his dream of playing first-team football.
The 19-year-old dazzler grew rapidly and was soon fully promoted to PSV’s first team after impressing the coaches during a winter training camp in Qatar in January 2020, but he is happy to be back in England.
Madueke, who recalled that he experienced some of his best moments during his time with the Palace academy, told Rising Ballers: “Some of the best times of my career so far have been when I was a young player there from U10s to U12s.
“I learnt a lot and it was really like my kick-start in my football journey. I appreciate them a lot. I was begging my parents to put me into a Sunday league team.
“Then, just at the end of it, a Palace scout came to me at a tournament I was playing at with King George and just said he likes my ability.”
