Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi has sensationally made speedy recovery from a injury he copped in training, and the Super Eagles’ star looks set to return to action earlier than initially expected, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is sequel to confirmation by The Foxes’ coach, Brendan Rodgers that he was pleasantly surprised to see the former Racing Genk of Belgium battling midfielder make himself available for full team training after just a week’s absence.
Rodgers admitted he was excited to see Ndidi making quick recovery, and confirmed that the highly-rated tackler and ball-winner could be in line for next weekend’s English Premier League fixture.
Although Ndidi actually went in for surgery just last week, as The Foxes struggled again in his absence last weekend, losing at home against Southampton, who they beat min a record 9-0 away win during the first half of the season, thereby leaving their fans lamenting over their Nigerian star’s absence.
Indeed, from eight matches Ndidi did not play for Leicester since his arrival from Genk in January 2017, The Foxes have managed to win only two, which were against Arsenal in May 2018 and Sheffield United in August 2019, such that joy is now running through King Power Stadium over the possibility of his early return to action.
Although he is out of this weekend’s EPL fixture against Burnley, which will be the third game he will miss this year, Rodgers affirmed that Ndidi has taken a step forward in his recovery and was back in light drills alongside fellow-Nigerian, Kelechi Iheaancho at Belvoir Drive on Friday.
Rodgers said: “Wilfred Ndidi has made great progress, he’s out on training pitch working, which is great news for us, but he won’t be available for the weekend. We’ll see after that.”
