Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi has given lots of thanks to The Foxes’ fans for sticking with the team and supporting them all the way in Monday’s 4-0 trouncing of Aston Villa, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although Ndidi recounted that the goals were not quick in coming for the home side at King Power Stadium, the former Racing Genk of Belgium star was glad that their fans did not turn against them, but kept cheering till the floodgates opened up.
The Super Eagles’ star is now giving plaudits to The Foxes’ faithful for standing by the team in their torrid time this season, as he also recalled how they went three matches without scoring, especially at a point when he was out injured.
He is now back playing full throttle, despite getting replaced in the second half after starting against Villa on Monday, and Ndidi says the biggest commendation should go to the fans that kept chanting and singing all the way.
With that scenario tumbling into cheers of celebration in the latter stages of the game and after the final whistle, Ndidi says his side’s previous triumph over Burnley the weekend before and versus Villa on Monday were both down to unflinching followership by the fans home and away.
The battling defensive e midfielder, who has now featured in 29 games across all competitions, is now looking up to the fans to equally play another prominent role in Leicester’s next match, as the club that currently lie third on the EPL play away to Watford this Saturday.
After starring for 84 minutes in the encounter, during which a brace each from Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes secured The Foxes maximum points, Ndidi, who recently returned from a knee injury relapse, took to social media to express his appreciation to his club’s loyal supporters.
Ndidi posted: “Massive win. Love it foxes. A big thanks to our fans at KP for being patient and cheering until the goals started popping.”
