Queens Park Rangers of England youngster, Moses Odubajo got an assist in his side’s English Championship fixture away to Semi Ajayi’s West Bromwich Albion, but it was not enough to save his side from losing at The Hawthorns.
Ajayi was on for the duration of the encounter, in which his side held their nerves to eke out a 2-1 win against Odubajo and the visitors from across the street in London, as Championship action got into full swing for the weekend with another derby.
Gray latched onto Odubajo’s pass, beat the offside trap, drew Sam Johnstone out and rolled a low shot into the unguarded net, but Ajayi had the last laugh, as The Baggies mounted a late comeback to win 2-1 and returned top of the log, while QPR stay eighth after their third defeat of the season.
Megasportsarena.com reports further that Valerien Ismael’s men had the better of the chances throughout the first half, but went in behind at the break, after Andre Gray had given Rangers the lead inside 45 seconds.
For much of the second half the hosts were kept at bay, though when they finally found they way back into the game, the equaliser came in fortuitous circumstances as goalkeeper Seny Dieng failed to hold Karlan Grant’s shot and pushed the ball into the back of his own net (75).
As the noise from the home fans increased, Grant was the match winner in the penultimate minute of the 90 as he finished off a delightfully crafted Baggies move to preserve their unbeaten start to the league season and send them to the summit (88).
