Real Madrid of Spain youngster, Marvin Akinlabi Park is on the verge of dumping the Spanish LaLiga side in search of regular playing time elsewhere, and his next port of call is likely to be AS Torino of Italy, megasportsarena.com reports.
The lad with a Nigerian father and Korean mother could now become the next in line from his dad’s country to line out for Torino, following previous stints at the Italian Serie A club by Angelo Obinze Ogbonna, Joel Chukwuma Obi and Ola Aina.
The Italian city of Turin could now welcome Park in the coming month, as talks have already opened between his representatives and Madrid, with a view towards getting a deal lined out for the youngster.
Incidentally, the deal that could jolly well take Park to Turin is coming after the Italian side failed to lure a teammate of Nigerian striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) away from relegated Crotone.
So much was disclosed by transfer market expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, who revealed in his article for Tuttomercatoweb, that Torino’s technical director, Davide Vagnati has opened talks with Los Blancos over a possible loan deal for Park
That has opened up a strong possibility of a deal being ironed out for the 2020 UEFA Youth League winner with Real Madrid, who is still available for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, having played only one non-competitive match for Spain’s under-19 team.
Di Marzio added: “With little progress being made in transfer talks to sign Crotone star Junior Messias, Torino have identified the former Tranmere Rovers youth-teamer as an alternative.
“Los Blancos are willing to let Akinlabi move on loan to Torino in order to continue his development but would like to include a buy-back clause or counter-redemption into any deal.
“Torino are working on a season-long loan deal with a purchase clause inserted into the agreement (for Akinlabi, who is) predominantly a player of Real Madrid Castilla.
“Akinlabi appeared in four matches in the Spanish top-flight last season and was a non-playing substitute against Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League.”
