Leon Balogun will miss the Nigeria vs. Mexico international friendly match due to an inflamed left calf, according to tweets by Folarin Sulaiman, who is in the team’s Dallas, Texas camp, monitored by Megasportsarena.com.
The Glasgow Rangers centre half cupped the injury during Gers Scottish Cup win over Hearts at Hampden Park last week Saturday and played the majority of the match injured.
Balogun had spoken with new head coach Jose Peseiro who asked if he wanted to outrightly skip the USA Tour but the defender said he would meet up with the team in New Jersey for the Ecuador friendly on Thursday.
It is expected that the calf would have drained before the team’s next friendly with Ecuador and the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers next month.
