The head coach of Kano Pillars Volleyball Club, Musa Babamusa has cited ‘collective effort’ from everyone in the team, from coaches to players and management staff, for the surge they have gained so far in the year, and went on to thank the state government for boosting their strides.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, while adding that his target is to win the 2021 Nigeria Volleyball League (NVBL) title, the former Kano Superstar player added that he will continue to give younger players playing time in order to help them become better and more established in the senior ranks.
However, with the club currently occupying first position on the NVBL log, after the end of the first phase of the season, with 24 points from nine matches, the under-20 women’s national team former handler stated further that he is not getting carried away.
He stressed that he and his wards will maintain their focus in order to lift the trophy at the end of the season, which would qualify them to feature in the next edition of African Volleyball Club Championship.
Babamusa told www.aclsport.com: “I am not being carried away by our latest position on the league table but my ultimate goal is to give the people of Plateau State the volleyball trophy at the end of the season.
“Coming first in the NVBL league is very easy but to maintain that position till the end of the league is very difficult. That is why we worked very hard in the first round and we want to continue with the same zeal in the second stanza.
“I keep telling my boys that it is not over until it is finally over. The position we are today in the league is not just my effort but a collective effort of the players, coaching crew and Kano State Government.
“Though the management of the club did not give me any target, but as a human being, I will always want to set the target for myself because I do not want to just participate,
“I do not think there is any team better than mine, one thing is that we will keep our match plan and if we continue the way we started, we will get to our destination.”
