Fulham of England striker, Josh Maja says he is confident that his side will get the better of Arsenal this weekend in the English Premier League, even as news out of Craven Cottage indicates that The Cottagers’ Nigerian-born winger, Ademola Lookman will return from injury to play the game.
While the buzz is already on about the impact Lookman could make against The Gunners at Emirates Stadium, Maja is excitedly looking forward to his chances of also excelling against the side he last played against during his time with Sunderland.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the barging striker, who is currently on loan from Girondins-Bordeaux of France, is beaming with great expectations ahead of Fulham’s trip to Emirates Stadium, where they face Arsenal in another potentially explosive London derby on Sunday.
Scott Parker’s team, who also have Ola Aina, Tosin Adarabioyo and Josh Onomah on their cards, are flirting with relegation, as only six points separate them from Newcastle United, who are 17th on the table.
On the other hand, Arsenal are having a mixed season in domestic competitions but have caught the eye in Europe, after qualifying for the last four of the UEFA Europa League this past Thursday, but Maja says he is not feeling any butterflies in his belly ahead of Sunday’s game.
Parker brought good news on the injury front concerning Lookman, who missed Fulham’s defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last Friday due to the hamstring-related injury he suffered in the second half against Aston Villa on April 4.
Since then, The Cottagers have lost four consecutive matches, after a 1-0 win against Liverpool on March 7, but they look good to fare better with the return of Lookman, who is Fulham’s top player this season in the English top-flight, with four goals and same number of assists in 28 games.
Fulham have taken some massive points in fixtures away from home all this season, with remarkable feats coming on the road versus Leicester City, Liverpool and Everton, where Maja scored a brace on his full EPL debut, and he hopes to repeat that against Arsenal on Sunday.
Maja, who has ten EPL appearances for Fuham, including seven starts, since his loan arrival in the winter transfer market, told FFCtv: “As we know Arsenal have quality, we’re just going to go in there positive and confident that we can get a result.
“Arsenal are a top side and we must be confident that we can play our game, play with bravery and courage, and hopefully we can do the job.
“For sure, these are the things that are giving us confidence , we know we can go to big away teams and get a result and that’s what we’re hoping to do on Sunday.”
