Al-Adalah of Saudi Arabia midfielder, John Ugochukwu Ogu has sent out a special beginning of the month prayer to his followers on social media, as he wants God to protect them during the ongoing battles with the novel coronavirus pandemic, megasportsarena.com reports.
The former Academica de Combra of Portugal and Hapoel Be’er Sheva of Israel towering left-footer noted that the biggest gift anyone can ask for at the beginning of the new month of the year is sound health and safety, as coronavirus continues rocking the entire world.
He acknowledged that it has not been easy for him and other footballers staying stuck at home, due to lockdown regulations imposed to prevent any further and uncontrollable spread of the deadly respiratory disease, but urged his fans and other football lovers to bear with the current tight situation, which he believes will soon fade away.
Ogu has now used the occasion of May Day and the beginning of the new month to reflect on how he has been able to cope with social distancing restrictions placed on various communities across the world by their respective governments.
While pointing out that he had entered the 13th day of his self-isolation, following his return to Nigeria from his base in Saudi Arabia in the middle of last month, ‘SDuker’ added that his best wish for his fans in a time like this is for them to all remain safe and healthy, even as the fear of COVID-19 appears to be finally abating.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalist, who was an alternate captain in the Super Eagles in 2018 took to social media to specially appreciate his followers, who he noted amount to over 152, and issued a heartfelt prayer that God will keep them safe throughout the unfolding unexpected dire circumstances caused by COVID-19.
Ogu interceded, saying: “I’m praying for my 152k + followers and well wishers that we all stay safe in this tough time we are all facing. God keep us all safe and sound Red heartRed heart.”
