SC Paderborn 07 of Germany defender, Jamilu Collins is in doubt for this Friday’s German Bundesliga fixture against Fortuna Düsseldorf, following a knock he copped in action for his side last weekend, megasportsarena.com reports.
Collins suffered two blows in the game against new Super Eagles’ invitee, Kingsley Ehizibue’s FC Cologne, as Pardeborn lost the game and the left-back bowed out with injury, which has now cast him doubt for an appearance for the relegation battling squad against Dusseldorf.
He may, therefore, not be at the stadium to exchange pleasantries with another Eagles’ rookie, Emil Maduka Okoye, who has been promoted to Düsseldorf’s main team, and would be angling for a first 11 appearance in Friday’s game.
While Okoye is still in line to feature in the encounter, the same does not apply for Collins, who popular German sports magazine, Kicker, reported that Paderborn’s coach, Steffen Baumgart is still sweating over to get a fitness clearance for the game in Düsseldorf.
The report adds that Collins was earlier excused from Paderborn’s first training session of the week on account of pain in an ankle injury, and he failed to resume full training with his mates, and fears have erupted about a repeat of the recent setback that saw the former Rijeka of Croatia defender fail to make the trip with his team to battle Bayern Munich last month.
