Watford of England have confirmed the exit of former Golden Eaglets’ striker, Isaac Success to Udinese of Italy in a full contract, following several years of injury woes with the English Premier League returnees, megasportsarena.com reports.
Megasportsarena.com report sthat the bagging attacker, who has not featured for Nigeria since playing for 45 minutes of a goalless draw with Uganda in November 2018, put pen to paper on a contract that will run until June 30, 2024.
It marks a second time for the 25-year-old Success at Udinese, where he began his professional career, before switching to Granada of Spain, from where he moved to Watford in the summer of 2016.
He is the second Nigeria-eligible player to join Udinese this summer, after Destiny Udogie made the move on loan from Hellas Verona, while The White & Blacks also brought in Lazar Samardzic (RB Leipzig), Marco Silvestri (Hellas Verona) and Daniele Padelli (Inter Milan).
A report by British tabloid, The Mirror disclosed that Watford sold Success to their partner-club in the Italian Serie A for an undisclosed fee, following an injury-riddled tenure that saw the all-action hitman make only 72 appearances for The Hornets.
The UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist, who played 10 times in the Championship last season for Watford scoring a single goal, will now aim for better run of fitness and haul of goals in his second stint with the Udine-based side.
A report by alnigeriasoccer.com added: “The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, keeping him at Udinese until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
“Success will be hoping to make his debut for the Bianconeri in the coming days after failing to do so in his first stint at the club prior to transferring to then-sister club Granada.
“The BJ Foundation (of Benin City) product had to move on to pastures new in the new season after Watford bolstered their squad with the signings of strikers Emmanuel Dennis, Ashley Fletcher and Joshua King.”
