SC Lugano of Switzerland striker, Franklin Sasere has expressed deep emotions over the end of his loan spell at Hamrun Spartans of Malta, as he confessed he will miss he atmosphere he came to enjoy over the past season, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although it was just a year he spent playing in the Maltese Premier League, the badging striker disclosed that he settled in well among his teammates and the officials, such that it was very difficult for him saying good-bye.
The 21-year-old striker scripted a very emotional farewell message as he headed back to Lugano after completing his loan spell and quickly resumed training on Wednesday morning, as he hopes to continue waxing strong at Cornaredo Stadium.
He is now hoping to maintain the sparkling form he had after teaming up with Maurizio Jacobacci’s men on a season-long loan move in 2020 with the aim of getting regular playing opportunities.
He then netted 14 goals as Mark Buttigieg won the Maltese elite division diadem for the first time since the 1990/91 campaign, such that he is leaving with fond memories on both personal and collective levels.
Before heading for southern Switzerland, the former Sunshine Stars of Akure hitman penned a deeply emotional farewell message to the club, which he promised will forever remain very dear to his heart.
Sasere posted on social media: “While it pains me to bid you all farewell, it troubles me to say I just came here on loan from a different club.
“Hamrun Spartans is very special to me, and I’m as sad as you are that I’m leaving. But the most important thing is not how long I stayed, but the footprints, the legacy, the history we both made to be crowned the Champions of the BOV Premier League.
“I say goodbye to a magnificent club as it is Hamrun Spartans. Let me take this moment to acknowledge the deep gratitude I have for the president, the coaches, staff, administration, and the players.
“Thank y’all for your kindness & unwavering support. And to the fans that have supported me since the first day I wore this jersey, thank you all. I love you guys from the bottom of my heart. Wish you the best.”
