Brentford of England midfielder, Frank Onyeka has received a fresh round of accolades from The Bees’ coach, Thomas Frank, who was awed by the lad’s performance last weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, although Onyeka did not score in his side’s win away at Molineux Stadium, he was among Brentford’s lot that got sweet words from their gaffer.
Onyeka was among the players singled out for praise by Frank in the wake of his side’s 2-0 win over Wolves during their English Premier League fixture on Saturday.
The Bees’ tactician was pleased with the defensive work from his team to register a clean sheet which laid the foundations for the win.
With the scoreboard reading 2-0 thanks to goals from Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo, Onyeka entered the game as a substitute as a replacement for Sergi Canós.
Except for his absence during a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, Onyeka has tasted action in all the matches played by Brentford in their debut season in the EPL, much to the delight of hi coach.
The gaffer said: “It says a lot about the players and also those coming off bench in Zanka, Mads Roerslev and Frank Onyeka who were ready to step in, that Wolves had no shots on target.
“We have that defensive mentality where we want to press and defend as high as possible away from our goal, but we can also defend box when needed and that’s a massive thing we need to continue with.”
