Chelsea of England youth team player, Faustino Anjorin is attracting January transfer interest from AS Napoli of Italy, with reports indicating that the Nigerian-born youngster could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge as early as next week, megasportsarena.com reports.
The report indicates further that Napoli are exploring ways to sign Anjorin in the upcoming January transfer window, as they seek to add the enterprising attacking midfielder top their ranks for their ongoing rebuilding process, after the exit of former Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti.
In the wake of Ancelotti’s sack by the Naples-based side, and his move to Everton of England, calcionapoli1926.it reports that Napoli are already thinking of stabilizing their squad in the second half of the Serie A season, hence their inclination towards signing young players like Anjorin, even as they make the hunt for a youthful midfielder their priority.
The report adds that Napoli are in the market for a midfielder, with their new coach, Gennaro Gattuso preferring to line-up in a 4-3-3 formation and Anjorin has been identified as a possible reinforcement at the start of 2020.
Napoli sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli has developed a keen interest in the youngster, after he was informed about the England under-19 international’s potential, and could make a bold move for the youngster, who has been at Chelsea for over ten years.
Anjorin joined The Blues’ development center when he was aged under seven, before officially signing a contract for their under-9 team, then made his first team debut for The Blues’ youth team and then gained a tentative spot with the main squad four months ago.
That was when he got a shock debut with Chelsea’s main team in a Carabao League Cup clash against Grimsby Town on September 25, replacing Pedro in the 67th minute and became the youngest Nigerian-born player to get his bow with The Blues in a domestic competition, aged 17 years, 10 months and 2 days.
However, Napoili will have to step up their efforts if they are to snatch the fast-rising lad, who won the FA Youth Cup, U18 Premier League and U18 Premier League Cup with Chelsea in the 2017/18 season, as he is also under observation by Borussia Dortmund of Germany as well as the French duo of Paris Saint-Germain and OGC Nice.
