Chelsea of England midfielder, Faustino Anjorin will have to work harder in order to gain relevance at Stamford Bridge in the coming season, as he suddenly found out that he is not good enough to line out for crunch matches with The Blues.
Megasportsarena.com reports that this stark realization came to the fore on Wednesday night, as the highly celebrated youngster ended sitting out for 90 minutes on the home side’s bench for their London Derby against Arsenal in the English Premier League.
Surprisingly, though, as ‘Tino’ watched on from the sidelines, Chelsea suffered a shock loss at home against their local rivals, who appeared hungrier to snatch crucial points that could take them into next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Such it was that Anjorin watched from the bench all evening long, as Chelsea were shocked 1-0 by Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, where The Blues’ coach, Thomas Tuchel opted to introduce the more experienced trio of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Olivier Giroud and Hakim Ziyech in the second half, leaving the Nigerian-born lad as one of the five outfield players not utilized as a substitute.
Nonetheless, it is the third time Anjorin would be named in an English Premier League matchday squad this season without tasting action, and he was left earnestly itching for a piece of the fray on an evening often reliable defensive midfielder, Jorginho gave away the game’s only goal after a costly blunder in the 16th minute.
That came after Jorginho saw his back-pass seized by Emile Smith-Rowe after goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga tipped it away, following which Mikel Arteta’s team came under intense pressure but managed to keep their lead with a stretch of luck.
Kurt Zouma and Giroud hit the woodwork in the space of seconds, as The Gunners recorded their first double over Chelsea in 17 years and they move to within three points of another one of their London rivals, West Ham United, who currently occupy fifth position in the table.
