Enyimba of Aba second choice goalkeeper, Femi Kayode has declared that he and his colleague are targeting an away win against Horoya FC of Guinea in this weekend’s second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals fixture in Conakry, megasportsarena.com reports.
Kayode admitted that all the players were not happy with the 1-1 draw they got from the first leg in Aba, but reckoned that they still stand a good chance of pulling through to the semi-finals, once they can turn the table in Sunday’s reverse fixture.
He added during Mega Sports on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos that they began training for the second leg right after the draw at home, as they are determined to turn the tide around, and enthused that they will have a good story to tell at the end of their outing in the Guinean capital.
Although he hinted that he might not be the one to start in goal, as Theophilus Afelokhai stands ahead of him on the perking order, Kayode pointed out that all the other players are working hard, as expected, and any of them that is called upon to play will give a good account as well.
Kayode declared: “We are not happy that we could only draw 1-1 at home, but we are determined to do better in the second leg on Sunday. All, the players want to change the story in the second leg. They are already working hard to win away.
“We tried in the first leg, but luck was against us, which is why we believe we can beat them in Conakry. We have started training and the players will all give their very best to win on Sunday.”
