Nigerian-born former England female international, Eniola Aluko has signed an agreement that will see her play one match for a British Sunday League club, which will pay her only £5.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that Aluko has agreed to the astonishing deal alongside Brazilian legend, Roberto Carlos, who is now 48 years old, but he is still eager to dust his boots – at least for one day.
Details of the deal reveal that Aluko, who played for Chelsea and Liverpool of England as well as Juventus of Italy before hanging her boots, sealed the eleventh hour transfer deadline day deal through eBay Dream Transfer.
Aluko, who hung her boots up only two years ago and is currently sporting director at Angel City FC of USA, will now line out for Eastbourne-based New Pevensey and Westham FC .
The female star, who got more than 100 caps at international level – before being appointed as director of women’s football at Aston Villa of England.
On the other hand, Shrewsbury-based pub team Bull in the Barne United snapped up former Real Madrid of Spain star and World Cup winner, Carlos.
Fondly called ‘The Bullet Man,’ the Real Madrid ambassador will take to the field for a substitute appearance in the Shrewsbury & District Sunday Football League – seven years after retiring from the round leather game.
Carlos was a pioneer of the modern-day full-back role, joining Real in 1996 after rising to prominence during a brief stint at Inter Milan – notching 125 caps for the Brazil national team over 15 years.
A report by Sky Sports added: “Both players are contracted for one game, after the winning teams entered a £5 ticket raffle – with all proceeds being donated to social-inclusion charity Football Beyond Borders.
“Founded in 2013, the charity was set up to change the lives of young people who may be passionate about football but not fulfilling their potential at school. More than 2,000 young people have already benefited from its programmes.”
