NPFL: Rivers United & Remo Stars Share The Spoils In Ikenne, MFM’s Misery Continues

Rivers United and Remo Stars maintained their unbeaten start to the Nigeria Professional Football League season following an entertaining 1-1 draw in Ikenne on Sunday.

Remo raced to an early lead through Andy Okpe’s exquisite finish in the 10 minutes but they were pegged back by Chijoke Akuneto’s leveller two minutes before the break.

Both clubs have 19 points but Rivers but have a superior goal difference to remain top of the pile.

Enugu Rangers International held Dakkada to a scoreless draw in Uyo to remain third.

Elsewhere, at the Agege Stadium, 3SC pipped MFM 1-0 courtesy of a 5th minute strike by Damilare Olatunji to compound the misery of the Olukoya Boys who have been anything but impressive this season and are rooted to the foot of the table.

In Jos, Albert Hilary netted the winning goal for Plateau United in the 67th minute of their 1-0 win against Abia Warriors.

Wikki Tourists also defeated Nasarawa United 2-0 at the Pantani Stadium in Gombe with Abubakar Aliyu and Anas Yusuf on target.

Holders Akwa United stunned Niger Tornadoes in Minna with Leo Ezekiel netting the clincher in the 66th minute.
