Glasgow Rangers of Scotland have opened another angle in their uncanny attraction for Nigerian players, as the team that currently has Super Eagles’ rookie, Joe Aribo on their cards has hook Malcolm Ebiowei as well, megasportsarena.com reports.
Ebiowei is the latest Nigerian lad to land at the Glasgow-based side that also once had Ovie Ejaria and Sadiq Umar, as the youngster has been unveiled at Ibrox, several weeks after being on the lookout for a new club following his release by Arsenal last October.
Although he had attracted interest from West Ham United early this year, the successful destination turned out to be Aribo’s team for Ebiowei, who trained with the Golden Eaglets before the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup and was included in the provisional squad list for the tournament in Brazil.
He expressed appreciation with The Gers for agreeing to sign him, as he will now have the pleasure of playing under their iconic coach, Steven Gerrard, in front of very passionate fans, who are always seeking the best for the Scottish Premier League (SPL) side, ahead of their Glasgow rivals, Celtic.
Ebiowei told Rangers TV : “I’m delighted to have signed for this great club. I know it’s very big and happy to see what the future holds. The fanbase and the fans.
“I’ve heard it is one of the biggest clubs and I’ve seen the fans on multiple videos. I love it. I’ve seen that Steven Gerrard likes to bring up the youths if they work hard and I’d like to take that chance.”
