New signing at Villarreal of Spain, Arnaut Danjuma has declared that he is both physically and mentally prepared for the challenge that lies ahead of him at Samuel Chukwueze’s club.
Megasportsarena.com reports that he arrives with aplomb from a glorious personal blitz in the second half of last season in the English Championship, where he starred for Bournemouth.
Although he failed to help The Cherries gain promotion back to the English Premier League, Danjuma’s individual efforts did not go unnoticed by suitors from all across Europe.
The Yellow Submarine eventually won the race for his signature and the youngster, who was born in Lagos to a Nigerian mother and father from Netherlands, is now talking in glowing terms about his aspirations in Spain, where his contract will run until 2026.
He added that he is already excited about the prospects of playing under former Arsenal of England coach, Unai Emery at Villarreal, especially as the team will compete this season in the UEFA Champions League.
Danjuma enthused: “I want to thank the club for betting on me. Villarreal has just won an important trophy and wants to continue growing, just like me. It is an exciting challenge.
“I really want to start playing for my new club and to be able to repay the confidence of the club by offering my best level.
“Emery is one of the best coaches in the world. He has been decisive for me to have reached this great club. I want to improve at his command.
“I have no doubt that with him I will grow as a footballer. I have seen that the group is very united. There is a spirit on and off the field.
“The teammates trust each other and that helps you grow as a team. The group is a family and that is important to me.
“It is obvious that it is exciting for me. It is an important step in my career to play for Villarreal. I have played the Champions League already.
“I scored a goal against Atlético and maybe some fans in Spain know me for that. I want to show the fans what I am capable of. The Champions excites us all.
“I want to help Villarreal in all competitions by providing goals and assists. Physically I am fine. I am physically and mentally prepared.
“I make myself available to the coach when he needs me. My goal is to be 100% and that he can count on me.”
